Focusing on where these genres have been and where they are heading, Exotica Moderne features emerging artists as well as those spearheading these movements. Where all of these subcultures meet and intersect, Exotica Moderne covers next wave of tiki and lowbrow art.

David Outl1n3’s work graces the cover of Exotica Moderne 26 as we feature his journey from a skateboarding psychobilly kid to one of Tiki’s most original artists. Kevin Crossman stops in at another Tiki famous artist, Woody Miller, and his newly-opened Pau Hana Studio. And, speaking of Tiki Famous, Shawn Gadberry pens the story of long-time EM contributor, Ray “Tiki with Ray” Wyland.

Anna Maria Sophia Cancelli sheds the spotlight on Tiki CWB’s Beverage Director Devon “Kitty” Lopez and Kevin Quigley explores the “pop” in Polynesian Pop music.

Continuing on with a musical theme, publisher Ken Holewczynski looks at a recent twist on the sounds of Exotica focusing Jason Lee’s Dark Entities and Jimmy Psycho and Thea Munster’s The Infernal Order of the Black Flame - two new projects crossing the classic Exotica sound with electronic music and strains of Goth and Dark Wave.

Justin Cristaldi continues his fascination with old-school Chinese and Asian influences torch-bearers of Tiki with a look at venerable Dynasty Wholesale - suppliers classic Tiki mugs and exotic barware.
